Lushabye [Ft. Drunkwife]

from Philadelphia Collins by Taperecorder

/

about

Formerly a remix of Hushabye by Jenn Mierau. Marc used very little of the original track; only a bit of viola and some slap-chopped Jenn vocals. It eventually became such a departure that Jenn's decidedly saccharine voice felt out of place. Drunkwife stepped up to lend a fresh set of lyrics and vocal aches to this dark and undulating recording - and, a litre of red wine later, renamed it Lushabye.

lyrics

Hush, and I'll quietly slip away
There's nothing more to say
So, hush, and you'll quietly fade from view
As far as a hawk from the moon
Take your mess
Take your mess
And sleep
(You retard.)

Marc Francis cheekily infuses his signature squelchy beats with found sounds, acoustic doodlings, touches of glitch, and a naughty tale or two. ... more
